ESPrinkler32 prototype setup

Let’s get your sprinkler controller online locally.

This is an early prototype. It does not need a cloud account. This page is just the how-to; the controller setup happens on the controller’s own local WiFi page.

Power it on

Plug in the controller and give it a minute. It should show setup/status on the screen or create its setup WiFi network.

Join the setup WiFi

On your phone or laptop, join network ESPrinkler32-XXXX. Password: sprinkler.

Open local setup

While connected to that setup WiFi, open http://192.168.4.1/setup.

Connect it to your home WiFi

Choose/enter your home WiFi name and password. The controller will save it, turn outputs off, and reboot.

Find the controller again

After reboot, use the IP shown on the controller screen/router, or try http://esprinkler32.local/ if your device supports local names.

Name zones and make a schedule

Name each zone, test one zone at a time, then create a watering schedule. Keep the first tests short and watch the yard.

All off

If anything acts weird, use the touchscreen ALL OFF button or open:

http://<controller-ip>/api/alloff

Factory reset

To start over, use:

http://<controller-ip>/api/factory-reset?confirm=RESET

Factory reset clears WiFi, names, schedules, and settings, forces outputs off, and reboots into setup mode.

Prototype notes: This is local-first hardware under active development. Do not leave a zone running unattended during first setup. If a valve, relay, wire, or schedule looks wrong, use ALL OFF first and troubleshoot second.
